The pacifist religious group known as the Quakers has been responsible for forming and running many well known companies. Pity most of them have sold out to mammon.

The links with paganism are overplayed. Normally on those little 10 word posts on Facebook.

There's solid reasons why eggs are used as a symbol at Easter but ultimately, this is a decision made by nestle and Cadbury, and it's a shame that they are now the guardians of British culture.

Take Cadbury. They used to be a great British, Christian company. They set the bar for how workers should be treated in the UK, and how ingredients should be sourced. They were a good, ethical company. Now they're owned by Kraft, are in the process of dismantling much of Cadbury's good ethical practices.

The good Christian company called their eggs, 'Easter eggs'.

The new people ditched it becaus they reckon it offends people of other cultures. Ditching a Christian idea is in keeping with their ditching Christian practices. The attempt to lay the blame at the doorstep of people who aren't British is mealy-mouthed.

I'm surprised so many people have been suckered into it.

Take a look into why eggs are used in the Easter celebration.

the joke is on the Christians for mixing with paganism anyway so why people care what they are called is beyond me

Re: Chocolate Eggs not Easter Eggs
How come no Christian ever mentions Matthew's version of the crucifixion/resurrection story in which Matthew said that at the moment of Jesus' death "the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they entered into the holy city and appeared unto many" (27:52-53)?

Christians seem to either not know about this or appear to disbelieve/dismiss it, despite it being in the bible and the bible being "the true word of God", weird.

One of my closest mates is a proper happy clappy bible basher, she's out on the piss tonight with her mates, not sure jesus would be very happy as it's his crucifixion date.

Mind you she insists gods real as she's met him so he'll probably let her off.

Christian schools should not bow and scrape to the few other religion types they let in.

It's frigging ridiculous

Re: Chocolate Eggs not Easter Eggs
Just imagine Jesus coming back and observing
how Easter is celebrated with everyone gorging on Easter Eggs and hot cross buns without even a heart felt mention of his teachings.

Easter eggs are Chocolate eggs, Easter bunny's are just Rabbit shaped chocolate creations and have as much to do with Easter as teddy bears and laptops they were created to water down Christianity a commercial venture for clever marketing men that is all.
